Carved Lacquer Food Box “Crimson Mountain Camellia”Gakusui Uesugi
After applying 10 layers of black lacquer, 20 layers of scarlet lacquer, then again 5 layers of black lacquer, 35 layers of scarlet lacquer and 15 layers of black lacquer, the pattern of camellia leaves was carved in black lacquer and its flowers in scarlet lacquer. The design of this food box celebrates brave camellia that blooms even in the heart of winter cold.
